  THE CRITICS RAVE!!!!

(Alamo Sourcebook) is indeed all the title implies and should find a place on the shelves of every elementary, intermediate, and high school in Texas. - Henry Wolff, Jr., The Victoria Advocate

As the title suggests, this is a reference guide for serious students of the fight between Texas and Mexico, covering everything from the types of tents each army had, to mini-profiles of the major participants in the revolution. - Mike Cox, The Austin American-Statesman

The authors are not afraid to give all versions of conflicting accounts with only occasional (and usually well defensible) commentary on which is more probable. They take particular pains to point out where the facts are at a variance with the Hollywood versions... - Paul Cardwell Jr., The Paris News

Alamo Sourcebook is an excellent introduction to the Alamo story, and also a good sourcebook for those who have a firm knowledge of the epic of the Alamo. Vast amounts of information are packed into this one volume....Last year I was asked to give a talk to some fifth graders...on the Alamo. I passed my copy of the Alamo Sourcebook around the class during the talk, and was amazed at how quickly...the students were able to zero in on interesting questions to ask. - Bob Durham, Alamo de Parras website

Yours is one of the books that when I saw it I wished that it had been around 30 years ago. - Bill Groneman, author of Eyewitness to the Alamo

Original "Alamo Sourcebook" Art Available

Ted Spring's original artwork for Alamo Sourcebook is being offered for sale as one complete package. There are 157 illustrations in the set. Nearly all are what Ted calls "sepia half-tones". The pen and ink drawings were colored to make the shading more dramatic for black and white reproduction in the book, mainly using browns, blues, grays and yellows. The result gives the original artwork a very unique "semi-colored" appearance. Most of the drawings are on 9" x 12" sketch paper; a few are 8 1/2" x 11" in size.

All of the illustrations from the book are included, except for the back cover, which has been lost. An 11" x 17" full color Xerox copy of the original will be included. If the original is found in the future, it will be turned over to the purchaser at no additional cost. The set also includes a few illustrations that were not ultimately used in the book.

As an added bonus, there are 11" x 17" full color Xerox copies of four alternate versions of the back cover. Also included as part of the package are 11" x 17" full color Xerox copies of five never before seen illustrations by Ted Spring.
